Securing converged technologies: new report

A new report, co-authored by RISCS Associate Fellow Dr Andrew Dwyer for the Department for Science, Innovation & Technology (DSIT), looks at how emerging technology intersections will shape the future of cybersecurity.

Drawing on research conducted with 20 cybersecurity experts, Securing Converged Technologies: Insights from Subject Matter Experts explores how technologies – from AI and quantum engineering to biotech – converge within complex ‘technology ecologies’, and considers the novel sociotechnical threats and opportunities resulting from these convergences. The authors underscore the need for resilient cyber-security strategies built on long-term, multidisciplinary expert engagement and a focus on tech already near deployment.
